In Venezuela, this recent 10th of January, Twenty-First Century Socialism has gone beyond being a dictatorship and has become a criminal regime of occupation. No argument, or narrative, grants Nicolas Maduro and his group of transnational organized crime a political status of any kind because Venezuela has a constitutionally elected and internationally recognized president, who is Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia and whose swearing-in has been hindered by terrorist actions. To restore the sovereignty of Venezuelan peoples, Gonzalez Urrutia has the duty to assume as Constitutional President and begin to govern with Maria Corina Machado.
Since 10 January of 2025, Venezuela is a country occupied by a transnational organized crime group with control of the military. International law spells out that “occupation is the effective control by a State or group, of a territory over which it has no sovereignty without the consent of the State of said territory.”
The sovereign mandate expressed on 28 July of 2024 orders Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia be sworn-in as the Constitutional President of Venezuela, however, through terrorist actions and organized crime shenanigans, 21st Century Socialism -or Castrochavism- with military and criminal occupation, has taken control of the State against the will and sovereignty of the people, staging a bogus presidential swearing-in of Nicolas Maduro who, afterwards, stated “efforts are underway along with the regimes from Cuba and Venezuela to take up arms.”
Assuming the representation of the country he occupies, Maduro has said; “Venezuela is getting ready, together with Cuba, together with Nicaragua, together with our elder brothers of the world, to … take up arms …” We must understand that by “elder brothers,” he is saying the dictatorships from Iran, Russia, North Korea, and China who could be willing to make Venezuela a new front of the “Global War” in which they have already attacked with Russia against Ukraine, and with terrorism and Iran against Israel.
The state of the situation of Venezuela today stems from the involvement of transnational organized crime led by Cuba and openly accompanied by Nicaragua and Bolivia, the use of State-terrorism, crimes against humanity, Venezuela’s condition of being a narco-State, and now the military/criminal occupation there.
This is a scenario that makes it -all too public- a threat to all democracies in the Americas. Technically, it is a declaration of war because countries that are not willing to accept and consent the crimes that have been committed in Venezuela, and those that will continue to be perpetrated, must be willing to suffer the armed violence with which they subject the Venezuelan peoples.
Nevertheless, the crux of the matter lies in that Venezuela has Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia as the Constitutional President, elected by over two-thirds of the votes casted on 28 July 2024, recognized as President-Elect by democracies of the world, who is today the fundamental factor to end the occupation that Venezuela suffers.
The mandate from the Venezuelan peoples, the territorial occupation, the self-confessed infringement of international peace and security, demand that Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia be sworn-in as the Constitutional President of Venezuela. This is not a matter of form, place, or how, but is a substantive issue because Maduro does not represent Venezuela and the constitutional government headed by Gonzalez Urrutia/Machado has the mandate and duty to recover Venezuelan sovereignty.
As the Constitutional President of Venezuela, it behooves Gonzalez Urrutia to act immediately -from anywhere in the world- to name Maria Corina Machado as Vice President or Chief of Staff, designate a cabinet of ministers, ambassadors, and all officials from the diplomatic and consular system, and to order the current military Commanders the immediate apprehension of all invaders and breachers of Venezuelan sovereignty.
A President-Elect can make invocations that may not be obeyed, but a Constitutional President can give out orders that may generate contempt, dereliction of duty, and serious internal and international consequences to anyone pretending to continue occupying Venezuela with usurped positions and functions.
Orders given out by the Constitutional President will be the certificate of illegality and illegitimacy of occupying criminals. They will prevent the supplantation of diplomatic and consular representations throughout the world, placing host nations’ governments in the necessity to honor their international obligations, and allow a distinction between the military or criminals and those who are at the service of their homeland and their peoples.
In the event that orders from the Constitutional President, as Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces are not obeyed, then as Head of State and Chief of International Affairs, he may request democracies from the Americas and the world “the conformation of a Multinational Task Force, under the command of the Constitutional President, to end the occupation and recover Venezuela’s sovereignty,” a legitimate authority for the use of force that wreaks the narrative of an attack or an invasion that 21st Century Socialism has prepared as the narrative to continue their occupation.
